Our booths comply with nfpa 33 the top level safety code in the usa for spray application of flammable or combustible materials. The air then moves down and back towards the rear exhaust plenum which is at the opposite end of the booth and located closer to the floor. The semi down draft spray paint booths is an excellent all around paint booth and is also one of our most popular styles. Also available in a reverse flow design the kayco cross draft spray booth can be modified to include 10 or 12 light options.

A semi downdraft paint booth operates much like the crossdraft or crossflow paint booth because the incoming air is toward the front of the paint booth and the exhaust is still achieved through the rear of the booth. Air is introduced in a ceiling supply plenum typically located at the front of the booth. It s then pulled through the working chamber over the vehicle and into the filtered exhaust chamber at the booth rear. The air exits the booth through the rear exhaust filter plenum and finally out the back of the booth.

Our semi downdraft booth is the workhorse of paint booths pulling fresh air from the upper levels of the working area through a double set of filters in the ceiling. Our etl listed semi downdraft paint booth draws fresh air through the ceiling in the front it is filtered twice and then exhausted through a filter system in the corners on the opposite end of the paint booth. The semi downdraft airflow design uses both the principle of a downdraft along with a cross draft design. The kayco cross draft spray booth disperses fresh air across the automobile and eliminates airborne paint particles and hazardous fumes through the filters in the rear of the booth.

The air enters through the intake plenum above the front doors and travels horizontally through the booth.
